Wellness Programs, Prevention, and MaintenanceCarlson Therapy recognizes the shift in perspective and empowerment of our consumers, and offers several complementary paths to wellness through it's staff of on-site professionals and it's base of referral sources. (Wellness services may not be reimbursable under your insurance plan.) We are also happy to inform our clients that "wellness care" has been added to the Connecticut Physical Therapy Practice Act, allowing therapists direct access for specific services that are maintenance or preventative, including Conditioning, Strength Training, Fitness, Workplace Ergonomics, and Injury Prevention. Any symptoms that are not maintenance in nature or preventative, would require a referral from your physician. These would be considered skilled restorative physical therapy services.
Wellness includes social, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health that extend beyond the absence of disease and disability. Wellness includes movement toward a greater awareness of and satisfaction from all aspects of life.
