Karen Schwarzchild

Physical Therapist, MAPT – Clinic Manager

Karen has expertise in the following: Evaluation and treatment of shoulder and knee, vestibular therapy, neuromuscular therapy for cervical injuries, pelvic stabilization, medical exercise therapy, work injury management, treatment of headaches, neck and low back pain, myofascial pain, industrial medicine, Paris joint mobilization, Kaltenborn mobilization, McKenzie approach to lumbar spine, and craniosacral therapy. Karen graduated from New York University with a B.S. degree in Physical Therapy and she received her Master’s degree from Columbia University. Karen is the co-owner of Physical Therapy Arts in New Fairfield and Brookfield.

Karen has two grown sons and lives in Bridgewater.

Sandra Wilson

Physical Therapist, PT, Cert. MDT

Sandra Wilson is certified in McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT) which has proven effective in treating many causes of musculoskeletal problems such as back and neck pain, sciatica and extremity pain. McKenzie treatment prescribes a series of individualized exercises. The emphasis is on active patient involvement, which minimizes the number of visits to the clinic and gives patients the tools to manage their own pain. Sandra graduated from Ithaca College with a B.S. in Physical Therapy and from Western Connecticut State University with a M.S. in Business.

Sandra and her family live in New Fairfield.

Susan Wong-Cohen

Physical Therapist

Susan graduated from New York University with a BS in Physical Therapy. She is also a Certified Body Talk Practitioner and an International Body Talk Association Member. She volunteers for Band-Aid Inc. (Danbury High School Marching Band Parents Organization).

Susan and her family live in Danbury.

Karen Nell

Physical Therapist Assistant, LPTA

Karen graduated from Housatonic Technical College with an AS degree in Physical Therapy. She has 14 years experience with a concentration in Headaches, Sports Medicine and Women’s Health. She is currently towards her BS in Physical Therapy and is all so the Head Field Hockey Coach at New Fairfield High School

Karen and her family live in New Fairfield.

Dave Goncalves

Certified Athletic Trainer, ATC

Dave graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a minor in sports nutrition. He worked his internship with the UConn football and tennis teams, also at Trinity College and Manchester High School.

Dave is excited to work with the parents and students at New Fairfield High School

Denise Preusse

Office Coordinator/Rehabilitation Technician

Denise attended Western Connecticut State University and has spent and has spent most of her career in customer service and technical support for various industries. She has worked for Physical Therapy Arts since 2004, two years as Lead Rehabilitation Technician in the Brookfield office, before coming to New Fairfield as Office coordinator. She is certified in CPR.

Denise and her husband Jeff live in Brookfield with their “baby” Elmo, an African Senegal Parrot.

Caitlin S. Carvalho

Rehabilitation Technician/Front Desk

Caitlin is a certified Physical Therapist Aide and Nurse’s Aide. She is also certified in CPR. She is currently enrolled at Housatonic Technical College, working on her A.S. Degree in science geared toward Physical Therapy Assisting.

Caitlin lives in Newtown.

Robin Culler

Rehabilitation Technician/Front Desk

Robin attended St. Mary’s College in MD and moved to CT in 1989. She works full time in the Speech and Language Dept. at Green Chimneys School in Brewster, NY. She has worked part time for Physical Therapy Arts since 2001 and is certified in CPR.

Robin lives in New Fairfield, has two grown sons and is an advocate for shark conservation.

Debbie Mallon

Rehabilitation Technician/Front Desk

Debbie started working in New Fairfield in 2008. She volunteers at New Fairfield High School. She enjoys running and being with her family.
